Celine was born and raised on the family farm near Masefield Saskatchewan. She finished her high school in the convent in Val Marie, Saskatchewan, before taking postgraduate training as a schoolteacher at the Moose Jaw Normal School. Shortly there afterwards she began teaching at a one-room school (Tigh School) southwest of Fox Valley in 1949. While there she met Albert Preboy who was helping out on the family farm while on summer break from University and on July 26, 1951 they were married in Masefield Saskatchewan. After some time Albert and Celine bought their first and only house in 1956. They resided in Fox Valley together until 2009 when Albert moved to a Maple Creek nursing home to pleasantly live the last three months of his life. Celine continued to live in the family home until May 2016. Shortly after arriving in Fox Valley, Albert & Celine started Preboy Electric in 1956 and supported their new and upcoming family with the proceeds. Celine was actively involved with bookkeeping for the business as well as house keeping, child rearing and worked for a time as a school teacher in the Fox Valley School, She was trusted and well respected. She had a kind and gentle disposition and was a loving and protective wife & Mother. Celine was a member of the Fox Valley C.W.L. for 64 years and during this time she served five years as the group's president. This caring organization she always fully supported. Her simple pleasures included going to church, hugs, cats, telephone calls, and receiving letters in the mail. Celine actively quilted with the local ladies annually during Lent. The quilts were then donated to Birth right and Neo-Natal departments of Hospitals. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, knitting, walking and reading. Due to the onset of Dementia and the fact she lived alone she agreed to move to Maple Creek. She became a resident at the Prairie Meadows Long Term Care Facility, where she lived the last 22 months of her life with the wonderful care that they so lovingly provided to her. She was very happy & content in their care. We would also like to extend a huge Thank You to the people of Fox Valley who cared enough to keep a watchful eye whenever she was out and about. They all did their part ensuring she was safe in the community.
