Caroline Bauer Obituary

BAUER, Caroline (née Kot) was born on the George Kot Sr. family farm on Oct. 1st, 1925.  She was the eighth child of 11.  She passed away peacefully at The Meadows long term health care facility on September 12th, 2018 with her daughter at her side.  Caroline was predeceased by her parents, George and Marianna Kot; her husband John Bauer (and all of his siblings and spouses)- her sisters: Annie, Mary, Rose and Veronica-her brothers: John, Gregory, Philip, Louis; brothers in law Russel Soltys, John Schmidt, John Vogel, and John McGough; sisters in law Helen Kot, Bridgitte Kot, Corinne Kot and Adella Kot.
Caroline is survived by her children: Randy (Debbie) Bauer and daughter Trudy Bauer; Mark (Barb) and children Tina (Derrick) Kinchen and their sons Grayson and Nate; Jonathon (Jess) Bauer and their son Jakobi; Evan (Myranda) Bauer and their daughter Violet; Bart (Michelle) Bauer; Collette (David) Andree and their children Michael, John and Thomas; as well as her brothers Frank and Joseph Kot of Weyburn, SK.

On the Heinrich Bauer farm, near Burstall, SK, Caroline worked hard alongside her husband John, milking cows, herding cattle and chucking bales. In 1974, John, Caroline and three children moved to Leader, SK.

Opportunity for working outside the home led her to be employed at the Western Senior Citizens home and the Leader Hospital.  In both facilities she worked as a laundress, cook and housekeeper.

Throughout her life, Caroline was very active on committees and boards such as Community College, SK Housing Authority, CWL, parish council and councilor for The Town of Leader.

She loved to socialize with friends and was often seen downtown with her coffee buddies in the afternoons and gladly welcoming people into her home for visits.  Trips to see her family in Weyburn, SK and Regina, SK were very special to her.

Caroline’s faith in God was a large part of her life and was exhibited through her relationships and outlook on life.  She would always remark that you had to take life as it comes.

Her love of family and friends, her strength, and her courage will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
