In 1953 the Hensel family moved to Mendham, but still continued farming, and that is how Adilina met the love her life Vernie Anhorn, he was a hired man for her father. On Nov 15, 1954 Vern and Adilina were married and settled at the farm west of Mendham, where they built a new home together. Adilina’s favorite color was purple and that reflected in her home. She loved life at the farm, raised her children, was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church council, Sunday school teacher for many years, curling in bonspiels with the family team of four. She spent a huge part of her life on local history, she enjoyed music, nature walks, and river adventures with her grandson Travis, fishing, snow mobile riding, bird watching, cake decorating was a perfected hobby of hers, she also enjoyed watching western movies with Vern. Farming was a huge part of her life, where she enjoyed operating the combines and when harvest was over, she always enjoyed having Vern’s hand in helping with house cleaning. Adilina kept close written records and photos of all her children’s events, such as curling bonspiels as a family team, motocross events with Dana, and her fathers’ band, with son Darren the drummer. In 1995 Adilina became a grandma for the first time to Travis Anhorn. Adilina was very proud of this day, and she dedicated every bit of her heart to proper influence and respect. She taught her grandson almost everything she had knowledge of. In Dec 2016 Adilina had to leave the farm and in Jan 2017 she became a resident of the Western Senior Citizens Home in Leader.
