Dianne Margaret (Sinclair) Martens

Dianne Margaret Martens (nee Sinclair) passed away at the age of 74 on May 19, 2021 at the Maple Creek Hospital after a long battle with COPD.

Dianne was born November 25, 1946 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan to Finley and Mae Sinclair (Black). She grew up in Swift Current along with her brother, Donald.  

Dianne is survived by her daughter Brenda Christian, son-in-law Gordon Christian and grandson Trajan Christian.

Dianne was predeceased by her parents and her brother.

Dianne married Ronald Martens on February 26, 1966 and they resided in Prince Albert for most of their marriage.  They divorced in 1991.  

Dianne moved to Maple Creek in 2004 and resided in the Sun Glo Apartments until her passing.

Dianne worked a few different jobs throughout the years.  She was a cashier at Safeway in Prince Albert, she worked in Pinehouse as a nutritional assistant at the elementary school and she was a caregiver in Medicine Hat for a number of years. Her last job before retirement in 2013 was a hotel clerk at the Jasper Hotel in Maple Creek.

Dianne enjoyed the company of her family, either camping and fishing, or spending time together at the holidays. Family was very important to her and she adored her only grandchild, Trajan. 

Dianne loved to watch sports of any kind, particularly curling and the Blue Jays. Most of her friends knew not to call or stop by when the games were on. She also enjoyed doing crosswords, puzzles and cooking.

She will be missed by her family and friends.

At this time there will be no funeral. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Swift Current at a later date.
