Ella was born October 1, 1934 at Linacre, Saskatchewan and moved to Leader in 1953. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Stephen Baron and they were married in 1954. They were a great team and striking couple who worked very hard to build a life and legacy for their family. It was a marriage made in heaven, he adored her and was so proud of her beauty, grace and style. First and foremost, in Ella’s life were her family, her selfless nature always put their needs ahead of her own. She was a homemaker second to none; she spoiled us with her wonderful cooking, catering to our favorites. Her cream puffs, German Chocolate Cakes, cabbage rolls and CheezWhiz perogies were legendary. Her artistic talents came to life on her ceramics, flower arrangements and in the beautiful décor that graced her home. She enjoyed gardening, delivering meals to the field, bowling, bingo, card games, casino trips, crafting, socializing, travelling and watching her beloved Blue Jays.

Along life’s way, Ella nurtured many friendships. She was part of a ladies group who met weekly at their homes sharing friendship, coffee and something sweet for over 40 years! Gatherings at the local coffee shop became a daily ritual in her senior years.

Over the years, Ella and Steve enjoyed many social activities as part of clubs and community including the Order of the Eastern Star, Shriner’s events, dances at the Masonic Lodge, hosting open houses and card parties, bowling, and cheering on the Leader Barons ball club being huge fans of baseball and hockey in Leader. Watching three generations of her family participate in sports and the arts brought her great joy.

Ella volunteered in several organizations as a member of the church, the Ceramic Club, and the Friendship Center. She was a Sunday school teacher, a 4-H Leader, and also served on the Figure Skating executive.  As a supporter of church and community events, she could be counted on when canvassed for food and bake sale items or to be on kitchen duty.

Ella was a kind, loving, gentle and peaceful lady who had a great sense of humour and a smile for everyone. She touched our lives with the light of her soul and will remain in our hearts forever.
