Georgina Anhorn Obituary

It is with great sadness and loving memories, Georgina Anhorn, age 54, the family announces her sudden passing on January 10, 2023, with her husband Dana at side when her heart stopped. Paramedics couldn't restart her heart in the ambulance near the house and her death was later confirmed at Leader Hospital.

Georgina was born and raised by the late George Schmidt and Elizabeth Schmidt on April 23, 1968, at the Leader Hospital, making her the fourth and youngest girl of the Schmidt family. Georgina leaves behind her loving husband Dana and only son Travis Anhorn, with his family, Chyann Hern and daughter Ivy Wrayne (age 2), along with sister Betty-Ann Dales, and daughters Holly (Joh) Morgan, Annabelle, and Heather Dales of Regina. Her sister Yvonne Fyke, daughter Candice Fyke, and her daughter Jade of Saskatoon, along with son Ashley and family Leanne, Larissa, Austin, and London Fyke of BC. Her Sister Josie, and Dale Rauch of Leader, and all the numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. She is predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth Schmidt, her in laws Vern and Adilina Anhorn, and her brother in laws Perry Dales and Allan Fyke, nephew Birch Baldwin and multiple aunties and uncles as well.

Georgina was always on the go and made sure to have lots of fun as a younger girl and the baby of the family while growing up, mainly having cats and dogs surrounding her and others at the Schmidt farm. She attended Liebenthal School until grade 8, then attending Leader High School furthermost being an Academic Honor Roll student in grade 11 in 84-85, and following through to grade 12 in 85-86 until her graduation. Along her ventures growing up, Georgina met Dana Anhorn, later getting married February 22, 1995 before having their son Travis, whom she was very proud and excited mother towards. Her work life was composed of working at the Leader Inn full-time starting March 27, 1991, and for over 20+ years she raised her son Travis and then moving on to being an employee at the Leader IGA until getting sick in late 2022.

Upon her son Travis's path in Medicine Hat, Alberta, starting August 2014, he met current girlfriend Chyann Hern, later having a daughter named Ivy Wrayne, which made Georgina extraordinarily happy upon becoming a grandmother on October 17, 2020. During every encounter and every minute being around Ivy, you could see the happiness deep within both her and Dana's eyes being able to spend time with their only granddaughter, being proud about how much Travis had grown.

Georgina enjoyed staying in leader spending time around the house, gardening, brushing felines, doing paperwork or helping Dana and Travis with their jobs, for the buisness or hobby, taking pictures of every moment along the way. Every minute spent cooking at home, following family recipes by head or one of her many cook books, her infamous lasagna, and many other dishes, had everyone complimenting beyond words. She loved gardening and flower shopping with family members every spring while spending numerous hours a day outside and decorating the property. She was always a people person, talking, laughing, meeting new people and overall being a happy going person, living life too her fullest. She would take her granddaughter out in the stroller, enjoying being a mother to another child then exploring the garden she planted and viewing all the decorations with Ivy, later visiting the Big 10-4 and viewing yards as she drove around town with family. Her time spent in the house enabled her to spend time and play with the cats, while watching shows known as The Voice, Gold Rush, and Oak Island, or blaring the stereo with Dana and Travis, in order to relax her from working too much.

Georgina’s sudden passing at 54 is very shocking to everybody, especially for her family and friends surrounding Leader area, but God has opened the gates to heaven and she will forever be under his care and shall never be forgotten deep within our hearts. She will always be near our sides for journeys in life as we walk and experience, with voices and times flowing through our thoughts in memory.
