Marvil Foss

Marvil Albin Foss, the husband of the late Bernice Foss, sadly passed away on Sunday September 6, 2020 at the age of 94.

He was born on April 14, 1926 on the Foss homestead in Frontier, Sask. He grew up on the farm helping his dad. He attended school at Paradise Valley and eventually took over the farm. He grew different types of crops, raised pigs, chickens and Herford cows. He loved the farm and built it up to be a very comfortable life for him and his family. Marvil greatly enjoyed attending rodeos; he always had a big smile on his face while there. He was an avid sports fan. He loved playing baseball and was a fine back catcher. He drove down to Seattle to watch a couple MLB games and talked about how much he enjoyed it. You could always find him in front of the TV watching baseball, hockey or the news.  He married the love of his life, Thelma (Anderson) on January 1, 1950. They were inseparable. They enjoyed farm life to the fullest. In 1999, when they retired, they moved to Lethbridge and built a new house which he was very proud of and loved having family visit. He loved to keep busy by working outside. He took pride in making sure his yard looked good.  He enjoyed mowing his lawn, helping with the flower beds and would always make sure that not only his sidewalk was shoveled in the winter, but his neighbors as well. In 2016, Marvil and Bernice moved to Medicine Hat, AB where they lived for a couple of years before having to move to Maple Creek, SK to get the care they needed, while still being able to be together.    

Marvil is survived by five children.  Margaret (Allan) Bloye of Airdrie, Twyla (Robert) Ibach of Medicine Hat, Daryl (Marilyn) Foss of Frontier, Corinne (Peter) Comben of Saskatoon and Allan Foss of Frontier.  13 grandchildren. Candice (Ben) Fooks, Kevin (Shannon) Bloye and Trent Bloye.  Travis (Jenna) Ibach, Carlene Keetley, Elisha (Waylon) Wagner and Tanner (Courtney) Ibach.  Kellen (Becky) Foss, Braylee (Ryan) Barrett, Samantha Comben and Jamie Comben. Hayden Foss and Stantyn Foss and 20 great grandchildren.   Nephews Glen Foss and Arvid (Rose) Foss, Raymond and Gary (Carol) Parkins and Niece Lorraine (Dale) Winters.

He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Thelma Bernice (August 15, 2020). His brothers, Leland (Leone) Foss and Abner (Leona) Foss. His parents Alfred and Mabel Foss and his in laws Andrew and Hilda Anderson.
