William Robert Barry

William "Bill" Barry was born to Jeanne and Michael "Wilfred" Barry on August 31, 1939 in Edmonton, AB. He passed away on September 28, 2021 in Saskatoon, SK.

Bill was raised on the family farm in the Legal, AB area and decided to follow in his father's footsteps, and continued to farm.

Bill met his wife of 49 years, Lucille Houle, in 1970 at a square dance in Morinville, AB. They married October 21, 1972 and went on to have four daughters: Rose of Blairmore, AB, Elizabeth (Henry Isaac) of Medicine Hat, AB, Laura (Angelito Delizo) of Edmonton, AB, and Christine of Maple Creek, SK.

Bill left Alberta to move to Saskatchewan in the early 2000s, where he found work as a farm hand. In addition to be a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bill also loved keeping busy; whether it be in the garden or in the garage, he was always tinkering with his next big project. If anything was needed for the house, he built it or refurbished an old piece of furniture for us to use. Always loyally following in Bill’s shadow would be one of his beloved dogs, waiting for their favourite toy to be thrown.

When he wasn’t outside, you could find Bill in the kitchen, perfecting his next bowl of porridge or loaf of bread. He was always ready to listen to your daily troubles or lend a helping hand.

One of Bill’s proudest moments was back in 2005, when he received his GED at the age of 66. Through his entire life, Bill held and unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.

Bill leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Lucille and their four daughters; Rose, Elizabeth, Laura, and Christine. He also leaves seven grandchildren; Tasker, Dante (Emily), Mya, Tazio, Emily, Adam, and Amelia. His brother, Wilfred and his wife Irene; one sister Agnes (Bentzin); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill is predeceased by two of his sisters: Mary Ann and her husband George Imeson, and Margaret and her husband Ernie Patton; his parents Jeanne and Wilfred Barry, and his brother-in-law Ben Bentzin.
