In the spring of 1952, Elaine and Alvin moved to their farm south east of Tompkins where they remained until 1981 when they semi retired until 2003 when son Raymond began farming the land.

Elaine never lost the love of music and in earlier times played lots of dances in the Southwest Sask Orca.

After moving to Tompkins, she was active in the Tompkins Seniors Club. She spent many hours playing cards and taking her turn hosting the Seniors Club.
