Alida Sackmann (nee Gill) was born December 24, 1924 in Leader, Saskatchewan, and lived her entire life in that area. Alida was a faithful wife, mother and a devout Christian. She excelled at cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. Alida's family was her main focus, and she loved cooking for them; German food was her specialty.
Alida is predeceased by her husband, John Sackmann; 10 brothers and sisters, and 11 brothers and sisters in law and son in law, John Andreas. She is survived by her daughters, Arlene (Paul) Schmaltz, Myrna Andreas, and Lynette (James) Buscholl. Six grandchildren, Richard (Terri) Schmaltz, Deanna (Jerry) Lennox, Ryan Andreas, Holly Andreas, Diana (Kyle) Laturnus, and Brandon (Whitney) Buscholl. Eight great grandchildren, Coleton Schmaltz, Regan Schmaltz, Skylar Lennox, Kassidy Lennox, Briley Andreas, Jaxton Andreas, Emma Laturnus, and Leah Laturnus, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
