Carl Eldon Christiansen, born on August 29, 1938, passed away on July 29, 2024, in Maple Creek.
Carl began working at a young age in the plastering trade, often following his father from Cabri to Maple Creek. It was during this time that he met his loving wife, Lillian. They were married and made Maple Creek their home in 1961. Carl worked alongside his brothers in the stucco business and went on to thrive as a business owner in the trade for over 30 years. Lillian, who preceded him in death, was the most cherished part of his life.
Carl had a strong work ethic, and while working with his hands and legs all those years may have worn his body down, it never diminished his mind. He did extensive work on numerous colonies within the area, taking time to get to know many of the families on these colonies, who became like family to him. Carl often came bearing delicious gifts such as breads, veggies, and meats from the various colonies, sharing the bounty of his work and his generosity.
His dedication to his work was matched by his commitment to his home. Carl and Lillian’s garden was pristine, and they could often be found working long hours in the yard, creating a beautiful space for all to enjoy.
Carl leaves behind his son, Terry and his wife Lori Christiansen. Carl was a devoted grandfather to Terry and Lori’s children: Dayna (Ryan) Jorven, Dylan (Christine) Christiansen, Tyson (Kim) Christiansen, and Tyler (Kaylen) Christiansen. He also enjoyed the company of his nine great-grandchildren: Abigail and Andre Christiansen, Thomas and Jessica Christiansen, Max and Maren Christiansen, and Christopher, Preston, and Logan Jorven.
Lavern (Warren) Boschee and Tina (Brent) Rioux were also immensely important parts of Carl and Lillian lives. The girls grew to be daughters to Carl and Lillian, and sisters to Terry. Carl is also survived by Lavern and Tina’s children: Logan, Leah, Tory, and Keely.
A memorial service to honor Carl’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, at 2:00 PM at Binkley’s Community Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Maple Creek Swimming Pool Development Fund.
Carl will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his commitment to his family, and his lasting impact on those who knew him.
