Edward George Feil

Ed was born in Maple Creek in October 1950 and got his lifelong nickname of Butch from the nurses in the hospital when he came out a whopping 10 pounds! He was the youngest in a family of 4 boys and lived his life on the family farm in Golden Prairie.

Ed was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He especially enjoyed the 20 plus years of fishing trips with Corey, including excursions up north with his fishing buddies. His love of the outdoors often had him finding and bringing home many baby animals to show his kids. Nature provided a beautiful backdrop for his photography talent.  He had a lifelong love of flying and earned his pilot’s license, and rebuilt an airplane with Rueben Kohls.

He fully restored a 1947 Mercury car using his upholstery talents to create an immaculate interior. The car won him an award at the Regina Majestic Car Show.

He could fix anything and make it better. He was often found in the shop improving or restoring something. Barb and Erin often gave him a brief description of something they would like made and he always delivered just what they wanted.

In more recent years Ed discovered his love of cooking, cast iron and Le Creuset cookware. He would often text pictures of his meals to Erin and any leftovers would be frozen and shared when they had their next visit.

Ed is survived by his loving family- wife of 50 years Barb and 2 children- Corey and Erin.

He will always be remembered for his sense of humour and I’m sure everyone in this room has shared many laughs with him through the years.
