Edwin Perrin Obituary

Edwin “Wayne” Perrin Born Dec.17th 1931 passed away after a very short stay in Maple Creek Hospital on Apr. 24th 2024 at 92 years old.

Wayne was born to Edwin and Lydia (Newby). The story goes that it was raining, and the water was running down the streets. On the way home it was cool of course and they stopped at one of his aunt’s (I believe Aunt Nell) to warm up and dad was placed on the oven door of an old cook stove, he always said that “do know that I pooped in Aunt Nell’s stove?”  Wayne made it to grade 10 which was a feat in those days. He went to Aylesford School. As a boy he spent a lot of time with Uncle Ernest getting knowledge or learning antics, whichever you prefer. Wayne had a lot of avenues in life that could have changed a lot of lives forever. He was a ranch hand, welder, owing his own shop, in the army, cat skinner, worked on the power line when the power was being put in locally, he was actually awarded the postmaster job in Maple Creek, but had gotten antsy waiting and had left looking for work and finally a rancher. To say the least, he was a quiet man, however he started a Square-Dancing club in Piapot and Maple Creek and he was the caller, so for a shy man that was a lot. In 1959 he Married Evelyn Esther Rattai. They made a lot of moves, not necessarily in order, but Valleyview, Kyle, Lashburn, Chilliwack, Germany, Montreal, Wildhorse and about 50 years in the present home. While here, he always had many projects on the go. When I say many, I mean many, and some of them even got finished.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Lydia (Newby), his in-laws Rudoulf and Vera Rattai, his wife Evelyn, brothers in law Harold Weiss and Ernie Brost, brother Ken Rattai, son Stuart, foster son Morley Elliot, nephew Wade, grandson Edwin and of course many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by siblings Francis Weiss, Stan (Margie)Perrin, Marjorie (Wayne) Yoos, sister-in-law Darlene Rattai. Also, daughter Pat (Allen)Noga, Cindy Perrin, Rodney (Lee) Perrin, and lots of nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
