In her younger years Evelyn enjoyed her time baby sitting and working at Three Valley Gap and the Skyline Truck Stop at Craigellachie, B.C. While raising her four children she took jobs as housekeeper and once as a janitor.

Evelyn moved to Saskatchewan in 1975, where she lived in Maple Creek and Tompkins before moving to Swift Current in 1986. Some of her jobs included the K-Motel and Rempel Janitorial, but her favorite job was working at The Big I, where she loved to listen and visit with all the bands. She worked there until she retired in 2005 when she returned to B.C. to take care of her mom.

After her mother’s passing in 2006 she returned to Swift Current. She enjoyed playing crib and whist and spending time at the senior’s center. Her greatest joy was spending time at the casino where she was welcomed by the staff with “Hi Evelyn”.

Evelyn moved back to Maple Creek due to declining health in 2021. After a short time living at Southview Manor she moved to long term care (Yellow House) in June.

Evelyn loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, time with any of them would bring a smile to her face. She was a loving mother and a loyal friend who was never afraid to speak her mind.
