Joanne Margaret (Wirachowsky) Andreas

Joanne Margaret (Wirachowsky) Andreas, 62, of Maple Creek Saskatchewan, passed away on February 14, 2023. She fought a courageous 6 year battle with cancer after being given a 2 year prognosis where many small miracles manifested through prayer and perseverance until her death.

Joanne was born on October 17, 1960 in Regina to parents Bryce and Sophie Wirachowsky. Joanne graduated from Maple Creek Composite High School in 1978.

After finishing high school, her first job was at the Maple Creek Union Hospital as a medical records keeping assistant.  She later moved to Calgary and worked as a secretary at Trans Canada Credit.  She then performed various jobs until returning to Maple Creek and settling in as the office manager of Maple Plumbing and Heating, a job she kept until stepping away due to health in 2016.

In 1976, Joanne met John in High School.  The two sweethearts got an early start on their family in 1979 with the birth of Danny (Daniel).  They were married with joy in 1982 and Danny became an Andreas.  Their second child Mark later followed in the summer of 1985.

Joanne enjoyed watching Mark play hockey and Danny cook around the home kitchen.  She was able to spend time in Mexico where she and John would often vacation.  In her later years she would spend many hours playing games with her two grandchildren India and Gigi (Ingrid).

Tragedy struck in 2003 with the accidental death of Danny in the home.  It took two years to get life back into her eyes but she did.  Joanne is predeceased by Daniel (Danny) Andreas, and her Mother and Father-in-law Winnifred and George Andreas and numerous aunts and uncles on both sides of the family. She is survived by her husband John (Daniel) Andreas, parents Bryce and Sophie Wirachowsky, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Julie Andreas, two grandchildren Gigi (Ingrid) and India Andreas, and brothers Perry, Gerald (Gerry) and James (Jim) Wirachowsky and brother and sister in-laws Ricky, Brian, Brenda, Phylis, Jerry, Theresa, Susan and Joe.

Services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on February 24th at 11 am.  A come and go tea for those wishing to offer their condolences to the family will be held at Cobble Creek Hotel conference room after the service. An informal celebration of life will be held at 6pm at the same venue.

Joanne passed peacefully with family at her side. She is now happily reunited with family & friends sharing laughter and love.  We will love you forever.
