Mom is survived by her children Sylvia Herbach, Linda (Cal) Graham, Andrew (Kendra) Volk, Gloria Poole, Patrick (Maxine) Volk, Cecilia Volk, and Wanda Volk.  Grandchildren Erin (Wes) Schneider, Amber (Ryan Griffiths) Armstrong, Gary (Brigitte Chapados) Herbach, Tyler (Sharla) Graham, Jason (Sarah) Graham, Jo-Anna (Tony) Cantin, Megan (Kyle Merk) Graham, Jessie (Brett) Paradis, Jamie Volk, Devin (Dayna) Volk, Eric (Natasha) Volk, Byron (Jessica) Poole, Melissa (Tyler) Brown, Matthew (Alyssa) Volk, Erica Volk, Cameron Volk, David Volk,  daughter-in-law Rhonda Volk and sisters-in-law Lena Eresman and Clara Eresman,  24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephina was born in Fox Valley on July 13, 1935 to Clements and Magdalena (Bischoff) Eresman.  Mom was the youngest of 8 children living on a farm northeast of Fox Valley.

Josephina and Joseph Volk were married on June 24, 1955. They settled on a farm northwest of Fox Valley where they raised their family of 8 children.  Life on the farm was tough.  The first few years they had no electricity, no running water – just a lot of hard work.  Mom was definitely a homesteader.

In 1998 Joe and Josephina retired to Maple Creek.  This was a time for mom to relax and enjoy the fruits of her labour.  She wasn’t quite ready to hang up her work hat yet so, she took a few jobs around town to earn a bit of her own money. She also baked and sold her baked goods at the farmers market. For the most part mom’s retirement years were filled with new friends and family. She was a member of the CWL for 64 years. She also had her collection of dolls and angels.

Josephina entered into Cypress Lodge in 2022 where she was well cared for by everyone. The staff at Cypress Lodge were like family and we cannot express enough our appreciation for the wonderful care that they provided.

Prayers will be held on September 5 at 7:30 at Binkleys Funeral Home, Maple Creek and the Funeral Mass will be held on September 6 at 2pm at St, Lawrence Catholic Church in Maple Creek.
