Catherine “June” Whitney was born June 14, 1933 west of Maple Creek to Emery & Helen Rife. June passed away in Maple Creek on March 16, 2025 at the age of 91. June was the second youngest of 10 children. She milked cows every day before school so that she could ride a horse instead of walking to school. June married Jack Whitney on June 20, 1960 in Medicine Hat. June kept a meticulous yard, enjoyed riding, playing guitar, fishing, snowmobiling, carols & bird watching. June loved the ranch life and lived on the ranch for 73 years.
June was predeceased by her parents, son Glenn, and her husband Jack. She is survived by her son Larry (Betty)Whitney of Swift Current & daughter Judy (Clinton) Brost of Consul. She is also survived by her grandchildren Wanda (Darcy) Moorhead, Darryl (Jamie) Brost, Kelli (Brandon) Penman, Brooks (Jamie) Whitney & Tyson Whitney, along with her great-grandchildren Braden (Macey) Brost, Rylan Brost, Kaylee, Vanessa & Erin Moorhead, Ashton & Cobey Penman, Jessa, Raeleigh, Easton & Brecka Whitney and Jayden (Kate) Pambrun, Austin, Colton & Tylynn Whitney along with numerous nieces and nephews.
