Kenneth "James" Besplug

James (Jim / “Sparky”) Besplug, of Leader, SK passed away on December 25, 2024. He is survived by his sister Angie (Ed) Martin, and sisters-in-law Rosemarie, Kay, and Marilyn. Jim was predeceased by his parents Mike and Theresa, and siblings Tony, Ralph, Roy, Victoria, Evelyn, Stanley, Shirley, Charles, and Gerald. Jim was born and raised in Leader, and at the age of 18, he began his long-term career at the Leader IGA. He retired in 2017 after 54 years of dedicated service. He was a soft-spoken, kind, and friendly man who volunteered during numerous community events throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed a variety of sports, most notably, baseball, curling, and golf. Jim spent the last days of his life in Leader’s hospital where he received excellent care from all the staff.

As per Jim’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A graveside service will be held at the Leader Cemetery on Thursday January 9th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.  A luncheon will follow at the Little Flower Catholic Church hall. Friends and family are invited to attend both the graveside service and luncheon.
