Lawrence "Alfred" Wardberg Obituary

With great sadness we share the sudden passing on Dec 9th of our parent’s Alfred and Josephine Wardberg.

Josephine Elizabeth Wardberg (nee Yatzik) was born to Lorrie and Rosalia on Sept 21, 1938 on their homestead at 13-2-25 near Divide, SK.  Jo, as everyone knew her as, is the fourth and youngest daughter, pre-deceased by three sisters and their husbands; Mary & Pete Ciukalo, Blanche & Joe Grevna and Julia & Amos Jacobson.
 

Lawrence Alfred Wardberg better known as Alfred was born to Ole and Esther Wardberg on May 1, 1940 on the family homestead on 15-5-26 near Robsart, SK.  He is survived by one sister Laverne (Raymond) Mapstone and two brothers; LeRoy and Lyle Wardberg. Plus numerous nieces and nephews.  Pre-deceased by his two sisters Alice Wardberg and Velma Wardberg (Schmaltz) and son-in-law Tom Pearson.

Alfred and Jo were married April 19th, 1960. They moved to their current home place four and half miles east of Robsart (the former Elmer Anderson place), where they raised Black Angus cattle and grain farmed.

They had three daughters. The oldest, Connie Rose born in 1960, married Donald Delorme in 1978. They have one son: Darby with wife Sarah and daughters Isabella and Mackayla.  Their daughter Kalee (Partner: Greg) with Kalee’s children; Nevaeh, Aeverie, Oskar and Ole.

The 2nd daughter, Jacqueline Gail, born 1962, married Brent Weiss in 1983. They have two children; Chad (Nikki) with children Keira and Walker.  And Nikki (Cody) Wakelam and children Maggie and Hank.

Michelle Marie, the youngest, born in 1965, married Tom Pearson in 2000.  They have two boys; Reese and Justin.

Funeral services will be at the Armories in Maple Creek, on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:00 pm CST.

There will be a private interment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Friends of Cypress Lake or Murraydale Stampede and Picnic Association.
