April 12, 1948 – May 22, 2023

Leona was born in Maple Creek April 12, 1948. Leona lived in Calgary most of her adult life where she furthered her education and became a Certified Computer Tech, and went on to teach at the Career College. In 2013 Leona moved back to Maple Creek where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, puzzling, watching curling, home improvement shows and faithfully attending the chuck wagon races.

She is survived by Daughter Jo (Owen) Genert, Son Kent (Anita) Resnechenko, grandchildren Riley (Kelsey) Huery, Bailey (Bryton) Wenzel, Tanner Resnechenko, Dallas and Belle Hodgson; Great grandchildren Grace and Kash Huery and Kaisley Wenzel, brothers Darcy (Terry) Burton, Louis Jr. (Joanne) Burton and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her Parents Louis and Alice, and siblings Les and Debbie.

Leona passed away peacefully in Maple Creek May 22, 2023 with her family at her side.
