Leslie Lyman Obituary

Leslie Allan Lyman was born February 22, 1961 to Floyd and Carrie Lyman. He was predeceased by his father Floyd in 1980; brothers Jimmy in 1981 and Gordie in 1997; mother Carrie in 1998 and his niece Chianne in 2019.

Leslie is survived by his brother Ken Lyman (Sheila); nephews Justin, Damian and Chesarae; Niece Sasha; sister Linda Wilson (David Huxted); nephews Tanner and Garett Wilson, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

He had several jobs in his lifetime including: working for the Town of Maple Creek, Sarcan Recycling Depot and Cowtown Livestock. In his latter years he assisted major Ed at the Sally Ann Store, for many years.

Leslie always enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of time with his friends David and Danny Huxted. He also hunting with his friends Barry Miller, David Huxted and brother Ken Lyman.

He loved garage sales and always brought treasures home. Leslie’s favourite café was the BC Café. He had a special spot at the very back, so he could see everyone.

Several years ago, Leslie met a very special couple Mykee & Manfred Meakes. They spent a lot of time together with Ches. They were always there whenever he needed anything. Also, Chris Crozier was another dear friend of his. Manfred, Chris, Major Ed and les went on many fishing trips. They were called the Three Amigos Plus 1! They had many laughs together.

For the past 3 years Leslie lived in the Southwest Manor. He enjoyed all of his friends there. He loved doing puzzles with them, going and picking up their mail for them. In return he received a small token of appreciation or a delicious bowl of soup.

He enjoyed his visits with Kathy Roy, a life long friend. She’d bring Leslie a meal every now and then, he was very thankful for it.

Leslie never complained about aches or pains. He didn’t care for Drs or hospitals and would never go to either one. He had a very stubborn nature as anyone can attest to!

On March 28, 2025 his sister Linda, took him to emergency in Swift Current, SK. They performed many tests and he was admitted immediately. On April 1, 2025 he was diagnosed with metastatic cancer – also known as stage 4 cancer.

Leslie will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
