Loretta Ann (Crane) Ries

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Loretta Ann Ries (Nee: Crane) of Medicine Hat, Alberta on February 15, 2025.  Loretta was the first New Year’s baby born in Medicine Hat on January 2, 1941. She lived in Leader, Saskatchewan most of her life.

She leaves behind her son, Raymond Sitter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother and sisters in law, along with extended family and friends.

Loretta was predeceased by her parents Mary and Arthur Crane, her husband Peter Ries, son David Keeler, siblings Gary Crane, Jeanette Deutscher, niece Sherry May.

Cremation has taken place; a private family service will be held at a later date.
