Ternes, Louis (Louie) Carl
March 26, 1935-August 1, 2022
Louie passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022 at the age of 87.
Louie will be lovingly remembered by children Diane, Roger, Dean, Karen (Bobby), Grandchildren Damien, Braeden, Mathew, Zachary, Danae (Riley) and Brendan.
Louie was born and raised on the family farm near Smiley, Saskatchewan, growing up he helped with a mixed farming operation. As a young adult he worked as a Jockey racing horses. After leaving the farm, he worked in the Oil patch in fields as far as Drayton Valley, AB. to Weyburn, SK.
In 1957, Louie married Lois Zyla and started a family in Coleville Saskatchewan. There he was an Oilfield Battery Operator. In 1965 he relocated his family to Maple Creek. Here he bought a farm implement business, Ternes Sales & Service Ltd. He grew the company with his two sons into a successful business for 53 years. In 1974 Louis purchased farm land, where he enjoyed working the land for 40yrs.
Louie was a loving husband and father, a loyal friend, and an active member of the community. He was a committed businessman and he always sealed the deal with a friendly handshake.
The family wishes to give a special Thank You to the management and staff at the Cypress Lodge Personal Care Home for their great care of Louie.
