Lucille Bischoff Obituary

BISCHOFF, Lucille was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on May 30, 1945 and passed away in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on February 9, 2020 at the age of 74 years.

Lucille attended Wienrevew school 1 ½ miles from the family farm east of Fox Valley. Later her parents moved to Fox Valley purchasing the local General Store soon to be known as “Weinberger General Store”. She attended Fox Valley school until grade 10, her grade 11 education was at the Prelate Convent later completing her grade 12 at the Fox Valley school.

Naturally athletic, mom enjoyed many sports, softball, ping pong, bocce ball, and the occasional game of pool with the boys, she was a good sport.

Mom met Martin the love of her life in the summer of 1963 at the Richmound Sports Day. They dated for a year and a half before getting married on Oct. 11, 1965. They moved to the Bischoff family farm operating a mixed farm of grain and livestock this is where they began their lives together. Soon after, their first son Blaine was born on August 28, 1966, followed by Shane on August 27, 1968, Dwayne on October 1, 1969 and Daren on June 17, 1971. They farmed together until 2011 when mom and dad retired staying on the farm.

Mom was a home maker, farm hand, wife, and mother of many skills and talents. She was the family hairdresser (took hair dressing course), and a teacher’s aid in Fox Valley and Richmound. Her other talents included ceramics, painting, sewing, gardening, and raising little chickens and occasionally needing to pull a calf with one of the boys at her side.

Mom loved family, camping, boating, sitting around the campfire conversating and having a good beer! Many laughs with family and friends, sights seeing, climbing to the highest point in Dinosaur Park was just another challenge in her life. She enjoyed a good movie, especially when it was at the “Clear Water” drive-in theater. Mom loved to dance at socials and weddings all the boys had to dance at least once with her “no excuses”. She was an exceptional hostess! Always made sure your coffee cup was full and snacks were on the table. Mom was famous for choke cherry jam, buns by the dozens, and cookies. Mom never complained about anything she was concerned about everyone else. Family and friends were her true love.

Lucille is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Martin; sons Blaine (Carla), Shane, Dwayne (Corinne), and Daren; granddaughter Sharlene (Kris) great grandchildren Jayda, Jaxx and Blake, grandson Cheltin (Kelsey) and her brothers and sisters Tillie (Ed), Anna (John), Barbara, Marie (Tim), Florentina (Tony), Harvey, Lillian, Emily (Murray), and Geraldine (Warren).
