Madge Jensen
November 15, 1922 – July 8, 2022
Madge Lenora Jensen passed away peacefully at the Leader Integrated Health Facility in Leader on July 8th, 2022.
She is predeceased by her beloved late husband Richard in 1985, devoted son Don in 2016, parents Norna and Aubrey McDonald, sister Vera Roberton & brother and sister-in-law Bucko & Beth McDonald.
Madge is survived by her son Bob (Jill) and son Tee (Melissa) and two granddaughters, Elsie & Sis. She is also survived by her daughter in law Sandra and two sons Jade, and grandson Casey and Jared (Kim) and two granddaughters, Rae & Jet.
Madge was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan 99 years ago. She loved school and skating. When she was just a little girl she told her grandma Munn that she would “nurse” her when she was sick. Well that she did when she travelled to Thunder Bay to become a Registered Nurse in 1945. She loved her work and continued in that field becoming a Head Nurse in Regina. It was several years later that her father drove her to Leader to become the Matron of the Leader Hospital. It was there that she met Richard, the love of her life. They proudly welcomed their two sons and enjoyed a life filled with operating Jensen Motors and in their spare time loved to travel. They travelled the world and in her last years enjoyed telling the family about different places they had visited and how she recalled spotting places as she noted on television. Madge was well known for many different hobbies, some which included her special handiwork, knitting, crocheting and peti-point. She was a devout member of the Leader United Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to teach 4-H and was well known for her red geraniums which surrounded her yard looking spectacular. In her later years she enjoyed the ladies coffee group and belonged to the Leader Friendship Centre. She was an active Bridge player and loved to entertain. Her table was always set elegantly and she was known for the best potato salad around.
Madge was a gentle and kind lady. You could tell she was well educated by the way she spoke. She warmly welcomed anyone who entered her home. Madge lived in her home until the last year of her life until she went to the Leader Senior Home. She was always appreciative of the care she received. She was so ready to leave this world and reunite with her family. We will miss her dearly but know she is at peace.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
