With great sadness we share the passing of Ronald Melvin Bascom, aged 86, who passed May 11, 2024, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan.
He was born November 17, 1937, in Raymond, Alberta, to the late Melvin and Bernice (Martin) Bascom. Ron was the second of seven children.
Ron Bascom is survived by his girlfriend Marion Gold, his three children with Jean (Dordu): Lorne Bascom (Denise) of Aetna, Alberta,Cassaundra, Leilani, Karissa, Mikala, Elizabeth, Hyrum, Dalin, Jershon, Teri Crow (Jason) of DuPont, Washington,Zachary, Rebekah, Sariah, Rachel, and Leah, Dana Porowski (Shayne) of Lethbridge, Alberta, David, Nicola, and Ashley and two great granddaughters. He is survived by his siblings Gerry Stewart of Lethbridge, Alberta, Garth Bascom of Roundup, Montana, Daryl Bascom of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Crystal (Cleo) Reidlinger of Medicine Hat, Alberta, brother-in-law Ray Woodard of Lethbridge, Alberta and sister-in-law Nancy Bascom of Eastend and many extended family members.
He was preceded by his parents, Melvin and Bernice Bascom, his sister, Jackie Woodward, brother Marvin Bascom, niece Marti Sue Bascom-Appell, and sister-in-laws Leona Bascom and Chryle Bascom.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at the Eastend Hall Aug 24, 2024 at 1 pm. A light luncheon will follow the service.
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
