Sebastian "Sonny" George Weinberger

Sebastian (Sonny) Weinberger passed away at Maple Creek on May 12th, 2024 at the age of 79, following a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Barb, daughter Michelle (Ted) of Beechy, Sask. Sisters-in-law Wilma Weinberger, Mary Weinberger, Margie Bort, Melanie Thomas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonny is predeceased by his parents Sebastian and Frances Weinberger of Fox Valley, Sask. his 10 brothers and 4 sisters, and brothers-in-law Bill Thomas and Ron Bort.
Sonny made friends easily, loved to visit and enjoyed having people to his home, Hospitality came naturally to him.
He was a hard worker and enjoyed trying and learning new things. He was a very good butcher and an excellent sausage-maker, and if you ever had opportunity to taste his sausage you would have to agree that there was none better! He eventually had to give up the trade due to health issues.
Sonny drove school bus for 27 years and especially enjoyed the children, and All children for that matter. He and Barb loved camping at many different places, which they were able to do while living at Creston, BC. He got a lot of pleasure out of listening to music, all kinds of music, Country, Old-Time and Polka music, and of course Dancing, Sonny loved to Dance!

And finally, we have to acknowledge his Love of horses, and the fact that he thoroughly enjoyed the summers that he rode for the
PFRA. Family and Friends were important to Sonny, so in 2016 the decision was made to move back to Maple Creek. Despite health issues, he was content to be back Home.
