It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Hoek on June 17th, in Leader Saskatchewan, after losing her battle with liver disease at the age of 67.
Sherry was born on Dec 7th, 1956 in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. She was raised in Sylvan Lake by her grandparents and attended Sylvan Lake High School.
Sherry went on to attend the Academy of Professional Hair Design in Red Deer, and worked as a hairdresser. She started her family life in Sylvan Lake and spent most of her life in central Alberta, before moving to Saskatchewan 10 years ago.
Sherry is survived by her loving daughters Amber Ramsey (Marty Anderson) and Alicia Hoek. She was a proud grandmother to Lincoln Anderson and Nixon Anderson. She was predeceased by her partner Lance Eliuk.
One of her greatest passions was interior design and refinishing antiques. She could be found repainting her house time and time again. She loved suntanning, shopping, and anything to do with gardening. Sherry’s greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. Even though living in Saskatchewan created distance between her and her loved ones, she truly cherished each and every one of them, the memories they shared and reminisced of them frequently.
A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at a later date.
