Terry Major Obituary

Terry Joseph Gerard Major - Dedicated father, grandfather, partner and friend, passed away on October 20th 2024 in Maple Creek Saskatchewan, surrounded with love.

Son of Laurier and Hazel Major, Terry was born on March 19th 1956 in Tisdale Saskatchewan. He remembered fondly his young childhood surrounded with extended family and the beauty that Northern Saskatchewan offers. He attended school in Glentworth Saskatchewan where the family settled to farm and call home. Right after school, he began his journey with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and this career would take him all across the Land of Living Skies province as a grain buyer until his retirement in 2010, in Maple Creek. For Terry, retirement was not his idea of great fun, and so he raised cattle for the next 14 years which brought him an amazing amount of joy and fulfillment.

He wore many titles: Devoted father, Loving partner, brother, son and friend. Terry loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, farming, raising cattle and golf. He was a master at tinkering, could fix anything needing fixing, solve any puzzle or problem, spot everything through a scope with eagle eye precision, could build anything you dreamed, mechanic any vehicle back to life and fill a room with laughter, love and endless knowledge. Terry was a man of Integrity, Humility and Bravery. He lovingly and single handedly raised two daughters and grandfathered with patience and brilliance. He met the Love of his life Roberta, lovingly referred to as "Birdie" and together they enjoyed life to the fullest with family and friends.

Terry was preceded to heaven by his parents Laurier and Hazel and big brother Robert

James(Jim) Major. He is survived by Loving partner Roberta Needham Howell, Daughters,

Lisa(Kelly) Keslick and Crystal(Jesse) Graham, Grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Olivia Keslick and Nova & Coven Graham, Brother, Albert(Gail) Major, Sisters, Debbie(Dwayne) Ash & Rosemary(Dave) Young, Sister In Law, Bonnie(Jim) Major, Roberta's children & grandchildren, David(Cheryl), Colsen & Macy Currah, Christine(Taylor) Caroline & Hailey Calder, Ashley(Courtney) Caddy. As well as many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Terry's family and friends are honored to celebrate his life the way he would want to be remembered, as a loving and generous man who enjoyed life to the fullest.

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,

I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day Is done.

I'd like to leave an echo, whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,

Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.
