Vanessa Jodie Oakes

Vanessa Oakes was born August 26, 1985 in Regina, SK. She passed on April 29, 2022 in Regina, SK at 36 years old.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Aries and her partner Geoff Wesaquate; parents Doreen Oakes and Wayne Fourhorns; brothers Clint (Selena) Chris (Jackie) and Tim; sister Tiffany; her nieces and nephews Kaylum, Keasha, Keifer, Kenzie, Kallan, Karaleigh and Kavan; along with her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Vanessa was predeceased by her daughter Kiona; grandparents Alma and Patrick Fourhorns; Jean Oakes and Wilbert Anderson and Margaret Mosquito/Oakes; uncles Thomas Fourhorns and Glen Oakes; cousins Mason Fourhorns, Ashley Oakes and Cullen Taypotat.

Vanessa will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. She enjoyed being a teacher/educator at Payepot School for 5 years. Vanessa was a talented artist with her drawing, painting, beading and overall creativity. She enjoyed participating in sports like hockey and slow-pitch with family and friends. Vanessa lived in many communities throughout her lifetime creating memories and lasting friendships along the way.
