Obituary for Victoria (Vicci) Stebner
It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria (Vicci) Stebner, a beloved grandmother, who was born on June 25, 1930, near Kamsack, Saskatchewan. Vicci spent much of her adult life in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, before residing in Maple Creek, where she spent her final years.
Vicci was predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd Stebner (2004); her son, Randall Stebner (2020); her sister, Kay Pawlowski (nee Achtymichuk) (2007); and her brothers, Micheal Achtymichuk (2008), Peter Achtymichuk (2009), and Paul Achtymichuk (2009).
She will be lovingly remembered by her granddaughter, Tracy Smotra (nee Stebner), and great-grandson, Cohen Smotra, as well as her sister, Natalie Jordan (nee Achtymichuk), and many extended family members who cherished her vivacious spirit and kind, welcoming nature.
Throughout her life, Vicci was guided by her deep faith and devotion to family. She was an active member of the Yorkton Christian Women’s Club for 25 years and a proud member of the Order of the Royal Purple, dedicating her time to serving others and sharing kindness within her community.
Vicci built a meaningful career with the Department of Health, where she worked as a secretary and office assistant—roles she truly enjoyed. Outside of her work, she embraced life fully. She loved to travel, golf, cook, and laugh, creating lasting memories with family and friends across many places in the world.
One of her greatest joys was spending winters at Imperial Spa in California, where she formed close friendships as a snowbird and enjoyed what she fondly called “desert rock golfing,” often saying it was far better than a Saskatchewan winter. She also loved camping and taking trips in the RV, always seeking connection and adventure.
Vicci will be remembered as a kind-hearted, open-minded, and deeply welcoming person who made others feel valued and at home in her presence. Her warmth, generosity, and radiant love touched all who knew her.
Her legacy of faith, compassion, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
